Day one

We did not have Internet on the 1st day, so I just typed up the blog and here it is...

Today we traveled from our home in Bedford, TX to Nashville, TN. We left at 5:15 this morning and we got to our hotel about 4:30. We had a great day. The kids did great. Drew got restless in the 1st hour and he had all the contents of his backpack were everywhere in the back seat. The car was packed full. There is not room for anything else. We crossed over the Mississippi river coming into TN and that was very cool, with a big bridge. Tonight we had dinner with some wonderful old friends that I have not seen in soooo long. It was great to catch up. We walked around downtown Nashville a little. Then the kids came back to the hotel and swam in the Guitar shaped pool. We plan to leave in the morning about 7:30 or so and make it to Virginia. All in all, it was a really good day.

Here are the thoughts from the kids…

Katie – Today was really fun in the car. The best part was getting to TN. I did not like the people on the street in downtown. My favorite part was meeting new friends with Debbie, Tanner, and Annie.

Maggie – I am very tired. I really liked meeting the Stevens family. I love Nashville. Not looking forward to more driving tomorrow.
Drew – I felt really cramped in the car and I could not keep up with my stuff. But when we got to TN it was fun. Loved meeting new friends and loved swimming. That is all for now.
